PROJECT GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Workstation is designed for automated measurements of light flux and photobiological parameters of light sources in accordance with the requirements of IEC 62471 and IEC 62778.
The equipment can be used in the following cases:
- in measuring and certification laboratories and centers;
- during mass production and control of lighting equipment parameters;
- during the prototypes development of new lighting equipment.
The Belarusian State Institute for Standardization and Certification got the opportunity to perform light equipment tests (lamps, luminaires, lights) on energy efficiency parameters, energy consumption and light parameters.
PROJECT TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
The workstation includes a measuring sphere with a diameter of 2 m, a spectrophotometer equipped with a grating, a set of filters, a set of detectors and a set of reference lamps and adapters.
To measure light flux and photobiological parameters of light sources, the equipment under test is placed inside a specialized calibrated sphere.
The equipment is connected to the network and configured for operation in the nominal mode. Using special software, a set of filters and detectors, spectrophotometer measures various parameters of light, for example, levels of photobiological safety of lamps and lamp systems, level of lamp’s light flux, and overall spectral density of the lamp’s light flux.
The measuring equipment is powered from a single phase 230 V, 50 Hz network.
Power consumption less than 200 VA.
The measuring sphere consists of two halves, which are connected by a swivel joint. The overall dimensions of the spheres can be altered at the customer’s request and can reach the diameter up to 2.5 meters. The workstation is fully automated and allows automatically perform all measurements of light parameters and generate reports and protocols based on prepared templates.
OPERATING PRINCIPLE
The basis of the workstation is the measuring sphere and spectrophotometer.
Measuring sphere is designed to measure the total spectral density of the light flux emitted by a wide range of sources. The inner surface of the sphere is covered with barium sulfate to ensure uniform reflection of the light flux inside the sphere. There are two fixing points in the construction of the sphere: height-adjustable. The upper point for accurate installation of the lamp being measured and the lower point for installation the reference lamp.
The detector port with mounted detectors is located on the pole of the fixed hemisphere. The internal shield protects the detector against direct light.
Furthermore, front hemisphere contains an additional lamp, which allows you to assess the impact of sphere itself to the measurement, and compare it with the impact of a standard calibration lamp. The detected signal is fed to a spectrophotometer to measure the parameters of the light flux using specialized software.
